History

Previously known as Palmer Flatts, our hotel was used as a hospice. From 1581 until today, our hotel has provided respite for those who require shelter and warmth from the national park. Daring back to the crusades and beyond, we withstand the changing landscape and also embrace it. With our Main House and Church View cottages being refurbished in 2023, we are constantly developing our hotel to ensure it’ll always be what you need. Our most exciting plans to date is the launch of our Hyllside Suites in Autum this year. With the addition of 14 remarkable individual retreats adjacent to Aysgarth Falls themselves, these luxury suites will be perfect for those who enjoy the finer things and want to experience true luxury during their stay in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. With views of the rolling hills and historic Bolton Castle, they are truly one of a kind.

Appearance in Robin Hood

Aysgarth Falls featured in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves with Morgan Freeman and Kevin Costner. The famous fight scene was filmed at the top of the falls in 1991, but you can go and see it today for yourself.
