Who We Are
Our story is shaped by the land that surrounds us and the generations who have walked it before. Aysgarth Falls Hotel has long been a resting place for travellers—first as a medieval hospice for returning crusaders, later as a 19th-century hostelry, and now as a beautifully restored country hotel.
Today, we welcome guests from all over the world to experience the slower pace, rich character, and natural beauty of this corner of Yorkshire. Whether you come for walking, stargazing, dining, or simply switching off, we’re here to make your stay memorable.
While much has changed over the centuries, our values remain rooted in the same principles: warm welcomes, excellent food, and a deep respect for this remarkable landscape we’re lucky enough to call home.
The Grounds
Our setting is one of our greatest luxuries. From the moment you arrive, you’re surrounded by the rolling hills and woodlands of Wensleydale, with the soundscape of the falls always in the near distance.
To the rear of the hotel, a tiered terrace offers open views across the valley, with a water fountain, spacious lawns, and ample room to breathe. Alongside our Hyllside Suites cradled by the rolling hills and basking under the national park’s night sky. Inside, original stone walls, crackling fires, and soft furnishings make every corner inviting—whether you’re settling in after a hike or sipping a drink before dinner.

We're excited to announce we are officially a 'Dark Sky Friendly' business!
We have gone the extra mile to offer specific activities, facilities, information to enhance your stargazing experience in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We have taken steps to reduce light pollution on our property so you can enjoy viewing the night sky on the premises.
As part of this, we hosting out-of-this-world stargazing events - A Night Under the Stars. Our next one is in October in collaboration with Bolton Castle to give you two wonderful view points and a delicious 3-course dinner. More information coming soon.
